Letališče Jožeta Pučnika Ljubljana/Brdo pri Kranju, 9th – 10th June
So, after the medieval events of the past weekend, and long nights of writing a screenlay, Monday and Tuesday were all about Goerge “Dubya” Bush on his visit to Slovenia. Images of his arrival, the press conference at Brdo and the Lipizzaner show are at http://www.dax-photo.com. Here are just a few, some you wont find there.
Security was extra tight, roads closed, air defence systems around Brdo, Americans almost strip searching the press. At Brdo, a dog sniffed through our bags and two security guys tried to open, turn around, look at, and dismantle every piece of our photo equipment, before the head of Slovenian security told them that’s not their business. Photo opportunities went out in pools, the unimportant press got none, those of slight importance (to the PR) got pool 8 – the Lipizzaner show. Everybody could shoot the press conference. Fortunately, the weather was fine.
Well, to cut to the chase…

Even they know our bottled water is no good
Slovenian prime minister Janez Janša: “No, really, our Lipizzaner horses have ****** this big.”
President of the European Comission Jose Manuel Barroso
“I must get that on paper…”😀
“Oh, cheer up, I promise you’ll win the electons.”
Meanwhile at the stables: “Don’t be nervous, boy, it’s only Bush.”
“Hm… Can’t tell, I don’t have a clear view…”
“No, really, these horses have ***** this big!”😀
